NAAMALA SAMSON
Managing Director

Mr. Naamala, having a background in arts and social science courses- attained both Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM); has an experience of 10+ years in organizational management, arts promotion, fundraising, safeguarding strategic campaigns awareness creation and trainings planning and execution, with local and international organizations. 

     Before joining Chamwino Arts Center (CAC) as the Managing Director in early May 2025, he ess working as a Learning and Development Manager at the World’s Top Ranked Number One (1) NGO, BRAC International; through its entity- BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited (BTFL) for TEN(10) years. 

     Furthermore, he has also been engaged as a facilitator, moderator and consultant in frameworks development and stakeholders’ engagement with Tanzania Forest Research Institute (TAFORI), Tanzania Youth Cultural Exchange Network (TYCEN), TAMASHA Vijana, BRAC Rwanda Microfinance PLC; a project coordinator and lead facilitator of an award-winning project “Youth Employment Initiative in Dar Es Salaam(YEID)” under Tanzania Youth Vision Association (TYVA), Youth For Africa (YOA) and Open Mind Tanzania (OMT); a leadership and management trainer under Action Aid Denmark/Global Platform Tanzania (GPTZA); a copywriter at Aggrey & Clifford Company.

     He also serves as a Board chairperson at Voice of Youth Tanzania (VOYOTA), board member at Theatre Arts Feminists and Nuru Yetu Foundation, technical advisor, and mentor in socio-economic empowering different sectoral projects; Safeguarding, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Green Energy, Culture, Youth Employment, Innovation, Arts, Financial literacy, and Girls’ Empowerment.

REHEMA CHIBUTU

Rehema is a Bank Signatory for CAC, and has served also in coordinating food preparations for the festival and the Chamwino’s Children Center.

DR. KEDMON MAPANA

Dr. Kedmon Mapana is founder of Chamwino Arts Center, and advisor to CAC on design and implementation of the organization’s projects, as well as central to securing funding for the organization. He was formerly chair of the Department of Performing Arts at the University of Dar es Salaam. He is also Chair of BASATA, the National Arts Council of Tanzania, and formerly on the faculty of the University of Dar es Salaam.

SOSPETER MAPANA

Sospeter is coordinator of CAC’s annual Cicogo festival, including visitation and communications with village groups as well as organization of festival volunteers

Nasson is a Bank Signatory for CAC, and has also been involved in visitations to village groups and teaching at Chamwino’s Children’s Center.

STANLEY MPUZA

Stanley is CAC’s Security Office, responsible for the overseeing of the Center’s buildings and adjacent land.

KENNETH ULANGA

Kenneth is key to the preservation of Wagogo culture at the Center through the collection of Wagogo stories, history, and customs that include stories, songs, and games.

PENDO ULANGA

Pendo is Executive Director and treasurer of Chamwino Arts Center. She oversees CAC's vision, including designing and implementing of different activities of the organization.
